Home LEARNING Show, Music & Rhythms Asian Version | Down By The Bay - Lyrics

True enough, parenthood is a bundle of joy! I couldn't recall much of my childhood nursery but now, I constantly listen to nursery rhymes with my son. Unlike adult's music/songs, the children songs are amazing, I can see the nature, touch the world  and sense the fun just by listening to these songs!

One of our favorites is Down By The Bay. The lyrics are amusing!
A few versions in Youtube:
GiggleBellies version
Cartoon version
Hip version

And below is our Asian version :)
Happy singing!
Panda is jumping
Down by the bay,
Where the watermelons grow.
Back to my home,
I dare not go.
Because if I do,
My mother will say,
"Did you ever see a giant panda doing yoga?"
Down by the bay.

Down by the bay,
Where the watermelons grow.
Back to my home,
I dare not go.
Because if I do,
My mother will say,
"Did you ever see an ayam* cooking tom yum?"
Down by the bay.

Down by the bay,
Where the watermelons grow.
Back to my home,
I dare not go.
Because if I do,
My mother will say,
"Did you ever see three tigers playing sepaktakraw?"
Down by the bay.

Down by the bay,
Where the watermelons grow.
Back to my home,
I dare not go.
Because if I do,
My mother will say,
"Did you ever see a pangolin shaking tambourine?"
Down by the bay.

Down by the bay,
Where the watermelons grow.
Back to my home,
I dare not go.
Because if I do,
My mother will say,
"Did you ever see a giant panda doing yoga?"
"Did you ever see
an ayam* cooking tom yum?"
"Did you ever see
three tigers playing sepaktakraw?"
"Did you ever see
a pangolin shaking tambourine?"
Down by the bay.

*Note:
Ayam is a Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia, means chicken :)
Sepaktakraw is a popular game in South East Asia
