Home TRAVELING Outing Penang Beach For Kids | Teluk Bayu @ Sungai Batu

Have you ever imagined building sand castles at waterfront, watching horizon afar alternating with the view of airplane descending while ears are plugged to the sound of waves hitting the shoreline and backed by a row of loyal Casuarina trees? Isn't this picture painted sound like a paradise?

Not many, even the local folks know this little gem. Not far from the famous stretch of prawn noodles (Mee Udang) at Sungai Batu in Teluk Kumbar neighborhood lies a sanctuary that attracts young kids and alike especially on weekends.
Do you know what we did last summer? Penang is a place with perpetual summer, so it just meant a few months ago.
We found one of the best beaches in Penang!

I would say it is the coolest beach, away from bustling city and tourists. It is a public knowledge that the sandy strip in Batu Ferringhi are the home to the waterfront hotels and are swarmed by visitors. Don’t get me wrong, I am not anti-tourism neither the tourists. We like our guests. But I also appreciate nature that blends local elements including local folks, play and culture.
If you’re looking for things to do with kids at Teluk Bayu, the list is endless from chasing waves, flying kites, scribbling on sand, playing beach futsal, collecting seashells, hide-and-seek, ‘masak-masak’ to even just lying down enjoying the breeze and do nothing!
Busy as bee, my little builder at work.
I was not alone, I had a special guest.
Here comes science. Is gravity real?
Putting Newton’s Law in practice?
