Home TRAVELING Outing Penang Biking Trail | Incredible 12 km Loop In 2 Hours (Plus Refreshment)

2 Hours is perhaps an unfair statement for this biking trail as we stopped more than a handful times (what else if not for photographs) in addition to a relatively long refreshment at Subaidah  USM Minden Campus.
Penang Biking Trail near The Light

Indeed a blessing, God made us a calm, cool Saturday as we started near Jerejak Jetty at Gold Coast near Queensbay Mall around 9 in the morning. Sun was mild as we paddled, hence we passed by The Light in less than 30 minutes before reaching a dead end that joins the motorbike lane at Lebuhraya Tun Lim Chong Eu, slightly after Jelutong Tesco  Hypermarket. Therefore, we returned on the same trail until the pedestrian cum two-wheeler flyover opposite e-Gate. Crossing the Jelutong coastal highway at the bottom, we came out at Artik flats, next to Platino along Jalan Akuarium.

Passing by the naval base and government quarter, we rode towards Gelugor heading on to Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah. Aiming to cross into USM Campus, we later crossed the main road at Gelugor Post Office, then disappearing into the lane behind it and continue riding on the inner lane passing by 8 Pagi convenience store, then Klinik Aman 24 Jam. Stopped when we arrived at Jalan Changkat Minden 1, we then crossed and biked along Jalan Changkat Minden 7 reaching the entrance of USM around ten o'clock. Going uphill was incredibly tough, I was loosing patience and strength hence I had to force myself to push the bike in the end.

Looking forward for a cool refreshment, the first thing that came to my mind was 100 Plus! Breakfast was gone, but I was definitely not in the mood of eating. Timely for the second breakfast, my little one was the one that couldn't wait to get off after sitting for more than an hour.

Blame it on the accumulated lactic acid, my legs seemed heavier after we rested. Haha!! We moved on quickly before the sun shone straight, taking the route downhill, exiting at Jalan Sungai Dua then later slowly disappearing towards Lip Sin Garden and back to the point where we started near Gold Coast.

Aside from burning tonnes of calories, we also discovered that this loop is actually a 12 km plus loop and we made it with a preschooler on board!
